1 Peter 2:11 (ESV)
Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.
Talk About It
Have you ever been on a camping trip or stayed at a hotel? While you're there, you try to be respectful and follow the rules, but you know it's not your real home. The Bible tells us that Christians are like campers in this world. Even though we live here now, this broken world isn't our permanent home. Our real home is with God in heaven! Because we belong to God's family, we're His special ambassadors living in a world that doesn't always follow God's ways. Just like when you represent your family at school or in your neighborhood, we want to show everyone what God's family is like. We should be loving and helpful to everyone around us, but we shouldn't copy the wrong things people do. Instead, we can show God's love by being kind, truthful, and caring. Even when the world around us has problems and people make bad choices, we can trust that God is watching over us. One day, Jesus will fix everything that's broken, and we'll be home with God forever where everything is perfect!
For Parents to Explain
Dear God, help us to represent Your family well while we live in this world. Give us courage to show Your love to everyone we meet.
Family Activities
Ambassador Training

- Make a family plan to be "God's ambassadors" together this week.
Camping at Home Adventure
- Set up a tent or build a blanket fort in your living room for a "camping" experience.
- While in your temporary "home," talk about how we're temporarily living in this world.
- Share what you're excited about regarding our permanent home with God in heaven.
- Pray together, thanking God for taking care of us while we're "camping" on earth and for preparing our real home with Him.
